Benton County Fire Protection District #4 is always accepting applications for the position of Volunteer Fire Fighter, Rehab Volunteers, and general volunteers. All Volunteers are of crucial importance and success to our organization. BCFD#4 does create a list for Career Fire Fighter positions on an as needed basis when positions come open.  This process is normally only offered to Volunteer Fire Fighters with us and whom have met the requirements.

If you are applying for Volunteer Fire Fighter and do not have previous experience, BCFD#4 provides a training academy for both wild land and structural fire fighting.  After the academy each Volunteer is encouraged to become involved with the Department as much as possible.  Besides calls for service, we provide blood pressure checks, smoke detector checks and replacements, reading with local elementary school students and provide assistance and appearance at local community functions.

Minimum requirements for becoming a Volunteer Fire Fighter include:

  2. Must be 18 years of age at appointment and eligible to work in the United States.
  3. Possess a High School Diploma or GED.
  4. Have and maintain an insurable driving record with no more than two traffic violations.

  8. Successfully pass a Washington State Patrol back ground check.
  9. Live with in a reasonable response time to District boundaries or Stations.

Recruiting will normally happen two to three times a year depending on the need for Volunteer Fire Fighters and in conjunction with the recruit academy dates.  After turning in your completed application a representative from BCFD#4 will be in contact with you.

If at anytime after turning in your application and your personal information, i.e address, phone number, or name changes, please contact the District Office with the changes.
